Let's explore a variety of the best dating board games that cater to different preferences and interests, ensuring a great time for everyone involved.

Fun Dating Board Games for Couples and Friends

Who said board games can’t be the perfect at-home date night idea? Or maybe you just want to play some dating themed board games with your friends?

Either way, I found some of the most fun, romantic, funny, and interesting dating board games out there for you to bring to the table.

Marrying Mr. Darcy

Fan of Pride & Prejudice? How about dating adventure style games? Well you get both in this unique card game!

Each player chooses a female character to play and collects character attributes to make them more desirable to their chosen mate. Whoever has the most points at the end (a combo of character points and how successful their match is) is the winner!

Red Flags: The Game of Terrible Dates

All those dating red flags you’ve been trying to avoid have been collected into one hilarious game! The concept is super easy to learn: one player is the “single”, and each player sets them up with their perfect date.

But wait – no one can be that perfect! The fun comes from adding red flags to sabotage the other players. The “single” then chooses which date they could deal with despite their red flags.

Fog of Love

Fog of Love is a great game that combines elements of strategy, role-playing, and romance. Players navigate a romantic relationship, facing challenges and making choices that influence the outcome.

This board game came out a few years ago and is less a date night game and more of a full-fledged dating board game. It’s great for couples but you don’t need to be in a relationship with the other player to enjoy it.

While it is replayable, what makes Fog of Love so unique is that you open the card packs as you move through the story. Sort of like a choose your own adventure dating game, it’s more of a story driven roleplay experience than your typical board game. It’s a great choice for couples looking to deepen their connection and have an unforgettable date night.

Love is Blind: The Board Game

Based on the hit Netflix series, this Love is Blind adult party game is a solid choice if you want a dating themed game to play with your friends. Just like the show, players pair up and “date” to see if they’re compatible.

No, it’s not a game for couples – players pair up at random so single folks and couples can all get in on the fun.

Mystery Date

Take a trip down memory lane with Mystery Date, a classic dating game where players aim to find their perfect match for a dream date. With a touch of nostalgia and a hint of strategy, it’s a great way to reminisce about the past while enjoying a fun and entertaining game.

Simple and fun, players move around the game board racing to get ready for their date first. Once you collect all 3 outfit cards and complete your look, it’s time to see who your mystery date is.

If your outfit and your date’s match you win!

One thing I love about this vintage reproduction is they kept it the same as the original.

Love is Dead

Playing on the modern dating problem of “ghosting”, Love is Dead has players competing to find their soulmates in a sea of questionable choices. Part dating themed board game, part group card game, this little game is a fun and funny addition to your game collection

Happy Little Dinosaurs: Dating Disasters Expansion Pack

OK, it’s not a full-fledged game like these other dating board games but this one is too cute not to add to the list. This expansion pack adds all new, scary disasters to the Happy Little Dinosaurs base game: dating mishaps!

Now you won’t just be avoiding meteors – there’s friend zones, drifting apart, and other romantic disasters to worry about too.

Love Letter

If you don’t have this one in your board game collection it’s definitely worth picking up! Love Letter is a fun group game with short rounds. Players use a mix of social deduction and strategy as they compete to woo the princess.

Finish the round with the princess in your hand to earn a love token; the player with the most tokens at the end wins.

The Newlywed Game

Another classic that you can still get today! Yes, the Newlywed Game is technically geared towards married people but this board game version can be enjoyed by any long-time couple, married or not.

The board game plays like the show meaning you’ll need two couples to enjoy this one. Try it with friends for a fun double date!

Star Crossed

OK, it’s not quite a board game per-se, but Star Crossed is still worth mentioning because it’s a fantastic 2 player dating tabletop RPG. No, you won’t need to set aside hours or stock up on 20 sided dice to play this one, but it does require a Jenga-style tower block and about 2 hours to play.

To play, both players craft characters who are in love, but can’t act on their feelings for some reason. Throughout the game players make decisions to increase their attraction (and hopefully come together), but at the expense of pulling a block from the tower.

A falling tower triggers the endgame and you’ll figure out if your characters manage to get together or not based on your choices.

Match Mate

Like the Newlywed Game, Match Mate needs to be enjoyed with a few other adult couples. While it’s not explicitly about dating, you’ll definitely get to know your date better with this fun board game.

It’s best enjoyed with a group of friends who know each other well.

The Ultimate Date Night Game for Couples

Sometimes you just want a dating board game that helps build intimacy with your partner. If that sounds like your goal with these dating board games then this one is it.

It’s basically a box full of would you rather style questions based around five different themes: cute stuff, thoughtful answers, “spacy” questions, lighthearted discussions, and a “spicy” category.

Talk Flirt Dare: An Adult Party Game for Couples

Spice up your date night with Talk Flirt Dare, an adult party game designed specifically for couples.

With conversation deck of cards that encourage interesting discussions, flirtatious banter, and daring challenges, it’s a great way to add a touch of excitement to your evenings.

Love Lingual: A Fun and Unique Couples’ Board Game

Love Lingual is an interactive couples’ game that uses conversation cards to spark interesting discussions and strengthen your bond. It’s a perfect way to connect on a deeper level and discover new aspects of each other’s personalities.

Dating Board Games Tips and Final Thoughts

The world of board games offers a diverse array of options for friends looking to spend quality time together. From classic games to modern twists, there’s a perfect board game for every occasion.

These dating board games are a fun mix of intimate games couples can enjoy together and fun dating themed board games for friends or families. Here’s some tips to make the most of your next board game purchase:

  1. Make sure you check how many players each game has before ordering since some of these options are party games, not just games for couples.
  2. Have some couple friends in mind before buying a game like Match Mate or the Newlywed Game or you won’t have anyone to play with!
  3. Keep things light; these dating board games are meant to be fun, not cause a fight. That includes games played with your significant other and friends.
  4. Most of these games are geared towards adults but a few are kid or teen friendly; try them for family game night.

Grab your favorite drinks, gather your friends, and enjoy an evening filled with laughter, strategy, and unforgettable moments.

Whether you’re a board game enthusiast or a casual player, these are the best games sure to provide hours of entertainment and foster meaningful connections.

Happy gaming!
